Our Trustees

John Hogg is the Chair for Keep Wales Tidy.

John is currently Environment Manager for Environment Agency Wales in South West Wales. He has worked for the Environment Agency since 1983 and held posts such as District Manager, Team Leader Environment Protection, Area Customer Services Manager, Corporate planning Manager and Strategic Resource and Change Programme manager. John is a member of the Chartered Institute of Waste Management, a Divisional Councillor for Wales for the National Society for Clean Air and Environmental Protection, a member of the UK Environmental Law Association and Wales.

Olwen Moseley

Olwen is the Director of Enterprise and a Principal Lecturer at the Cardiff School of Art and Design, UWIC. She has held numerous roles as a lecturer, administrator and external examiner in Further and Higher Education Institutions. This includes roles such as Chair of UWIC’s Unfair Practices Committee. She is the Director of the Cardiff Design Festival and is Chair of the Lower Machen and Draethen River Care group, one of the most active groups being supported by the Tidy Towns project.

Steve Owen

Steve is Drainage Streetworks & Trunk Road Manager within Neath Port Talbot County Borough Council. He has 30 years experience of various Streetcare operations including Cleansing, Grounds maintenance, Building Cleaning, Vehicle Maintenance and Highways and started work in 1981 as a Refuse collector. Steve is member of the Chartered Institute of Waste Management UK Special Interest Group for Refuse and Street Cleansing.

Paul Griffiths

Paul lives in Pontyclun where he is a community councillor. He was born in Swansea and attended schools in Aberavon and Bridgend. He has degrees in government and economics from the London School of Economics and Brunel University.

Paul has worked as a lecturer in public administration as Head of Corporate Affairs at the Welsh Local Government Association and as Special Adviser at the Welsh Assembly Government. He is currently a consultant in public services.

Sally Gronow

Sally is the Customer Manager for the Operations Division of Dŵr Cymru Welsh Water. She has worked in a customer service environment for over 20 years in the utilities sector. During her career she has also worked in Communications and Personnel. Sally is an Associate Member of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators and a Practicing Member of the Institute of Customer Service.

Ceri Davies

Ceri is a Welsh History gradaute working for the Civil Service in the Welsh Government - currently within the regneration field , but having previously worked extensively within the environment portfolio including heading up the Local Environment Quality Team. With a previous background in the utility power sector Ceri retains an interest in this area by developing small scale renewable projects. Ceri also enjoys volunteering in his local neighbourhood in Cardiff to ensure that it is kept as clean, safe and tidy as possible.

He likes history, sport and politics – all with a heavy Welsh bias – and dislikes early mornings and seeing Welsh heritage and beauty spots spoilt by litter.

Myfanwy Alexander

Myfanwy is a writer and broadcaster, best known for her position as a member of the Welsh team on Radio Four’s Round Britain Quiz. An active member of her community in Llanfair Careinion, she is currently involved in the establishment of a sustainable energy council for Mid Wales and the Marches.

Myfanwy believes that strong and successful communities are built on the engagement of all groups and is especially interested in the impact a clean environment can have on school children’s achievements.

Lucy O’Donnell

Lucy is Assistant Director Public Engagement and Governance for CADW and is responsible for the services which make the Welsh historic environment interesting and relevant to the public.

Lucy frequently volunteers on behalf of Keep Wales Tidy and is especially interested in the causes of litter and the need to improve local areas and communities. She has a degree in Economics and Statistics from Reading University. Using her business and marketing experience, she is helping the charity nurture its relationships with the private, voluntary and public sectors.

Vanessa Phillips

Vanessa is Director of Resources for the Welsh Local Government Association (WLGA) with twenty years of experience of policy and strategy development within the civil service. Vanessa is a qualified CIPFA accountant and holds a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) and an Honours Degree in Social Policy and Administration.

Vanessa is keen to use her expertise to support Keep Wales Tidy’s staff and volunteers to educate, inform and influence individuls within communities to develop a sense of environmental responsibility

Wynne Evans

Wynne is a long standing member of Pembrokeshire County Council, with strong links to all enviroment issues in today’s society. He also works with the Prince’s Trust Cymru, various arts and training enterprises within Pembrokeshire and youth offending services across Wales,

Wynne is very much involved in numerous community and social housing projects and is a member of Hywel Dda Community Health Council, with involvement with the Welsh NHS Ambulance Service. He is a keen supporter of Swansea football club.

Dave King

Dave is a management accountant with the Intellectual Property Office, the latest position in a 26 year career todate in a wide range of public sector organisations. To assist in his role as Trustee for Keep Wales Tidy, Dave has also embarked on a MSc in Charity Accounting and Financial Management to supplement the Pg Dip he has in Environmental Decision Making.

Dave has been involved for several years in volunteering primarily on conservation projects with organisations such as the RSPB. As well as participating in a number of multi action days with the police, park rangers, and council enforcement teams clearing rubbish in residential areas around Cardiff, he is also secretary of Cardiff Rivers Group, a very active local group funded by Tidy Towns.

Dave Evans

Dave is a Warwick Business School MBA, with a BSc(hons) in Zoology and an MSc in Environmental Protection. He previously led the team that won the Customer Satisfaction prize at the Wales Quality Awards. He is a qualified Lead Auditor for both ISO 9001 and 14001 and a registered trainer with the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health for several courses including the Certificate in Environmental Principles and Best Practice.

Commited to social enterprise, Dave is also a member of Cynnal Cymru, SARDA, the British Association for Applied Nutrition and Nutritional Therapy (BANT), The International Stress Management Association (ISMA), The National Trust, The Marine Conservation Society and The Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment.
